After breakfast we have a full day dame drive, with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and its one of the few places where it’s possible to see the big five during a morning’s game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sun birds.

From the Mara to the Flamingo Shores of Lake Nakuru

Enjoy one last memorable breakfast in the Mara before we begin our scenic journey east. We cross the equator, a fantastic photo opportunity, and descend into the Great Rift Valley towards our next destination.

Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, a world-renowned alkaline lake often blanketed in a shimmering pink hue from millions of lesser and greater flamingos. Beyond the birds, the park is a acclaimed rhino sanctuary, offering some of Kenya's best chances to see both black and white rhinos up close. Keep your eyes peeled for predators like lions and leopards that stalk the acacia woodlands.

We arrive at our lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive around the lake shore, searching for wildlife against a stunning backdrop.

Rhinos & Rift Valley Lakes to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, we embark on a final morning game drive in Lake Nakuru, giving you another chance to capture the perfect photo of a rhino or a flock of flamingos taking flight.

We then enjoy lunch before a short and scenic drive south along the floor of the Rift Valley. Our destination is the serene Lake Naivasha, a freshwater oasis teeming with birdlife and hippos. The change in landscape from the dry savannah to the lush shores of the lake is remarkable.

Check into your accommodation, which often features beautiful gardens running down to the water's edge. The evening is yours to relax, perhaps enjoying a sundowner while listening to the hippos grunt in the distance.

Cycling Adventure in Hell's Gate & Flight to the Coast

Prepare for a unique and active safari experience today! We visit Hell's Gate National Park, one of the few parks in Africa that allows exploration on foot and by bicycle. Cycle past towering cliff faces, geothermal steam vents, and herds of zebra, buffalo, and antelope. The park's dramatic scenery famously inspired the landscapes of Disney's *The Lion King*.

After an exhilarating morning, we return to Nairobi. You'll have time to freshen up before we transfer you to the airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Mombasa (flight cost may not be included).

Upon arrival in Mombasa, you'll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your beachfront hotel. Feel the cool ocean breeze and know that your days of relaxation have begun.

Last Moments of Paradise & Departure

Enjoy one final, leisurely breakfast overlooking the ocean. Take a last stroll along the beach, soak in the views, and make a promise to yourself to return.

Depending on your international flight schedule, you will be transferred from your hotel to Moi International Airport (MBA) in Mombasa for your journey home, or you will take a domestic flight back to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) to connect with your international departure.
